Seattle Lake Union Sail Boat Engagement Shoot

I love when my clients want to do something a little different for their engagement photographs. When Kerri suggested that they took her brother’s sail boat for a spin around Lake Union in Seattle I was pretty excited. There is something magical to me about being near the water, whether that is the ocean, river or a lake
Nick and Kerri are a really fun couple to be around. I love that they don’t take themselves too seriously and Nick is constantly goofing around and making everyone, especially Kerri laugh. I am very excited to shoot their wedding this summer at the arboretum in Seattle, it is going to be a lot of fun. I asked them both a few questions to give us a little insight into the world of Kerri and Nick and here are their responses, they are clearly pretty in-tune with each other:
Kerri: We met while working together at Nordstrom. Before we had actually met, I remember all of our coworkers telling me about Nick and how he was so funny and they all thought I would just love him. Well, right they were! From the beginning I was one of Nick’s biggest fans and was drawn to his humor and quick wit.
Nick: I remember before I met Kerri, all of my co workers at the time knew she was coming back from Portland to start working with us again. Everyone kept telling me how great she is and how her and I would get along so well. I didn’t understand what they were talking about until I met her and we instantly got each others sense of humor. Out personalities seemed to just fit together right from the start.
Kerri: I love how thoughtful he is. Nick is always thinking of how he can help someone and is so conscientious of others.
Nick: My favorite thing about Kerri is how kind and genuinely good natured she is no matter the circumstances. She makes me want to be a better person every day so I can hopefully make her as happy as she makes me.
Kerri: Is it too cheesy to say everything? I’m looking forward to the future and all the adventures it holds for us, and also the day to day routine. I feel so fortunate to have Nick as a partner and am excited to tackle life with him as my teammate.
Nick: The one thing that excites me the most about our future is all the adventures we will go on together. The good and the bad, no matter what may come, we can face anything together.
Kerri: Passionate, funny, smart!
Nick: The three words I would use to describe Kerri are Kind, Beautiful, and Strong.
Kerri: Hop on a ferry and hope to spot a whale! We’ve been going on these whale hunts for over three years and still haven’t had a sighting
Nick: Our favorite thing to do together is travel. Whether it’s a road trip or a ten hour plane ride, we get to spend time together one on one, experiencing new things together and creating memories that will last forever.
