A heartfelt day filled with joy, laughter, and happy tears is the perfect way to describe Hannah and Ethan’s wedding at the Edmonds Waterfront Center. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Salish Sea, this sweet couple showed everyone what true love looks like in the Pacific Northwest.
The day began with an intimate ketubah signing upstairs, followed by a beautiful and traditional Jewish ceremony overlooking the water. Not just one, but two rabbis officiated, sharing thoughtful and meaningful words that made the ceremony especially personal.
While the forecast threatened rain, we were gifted with just enough breaks in the weather to sneak outside for incredible photos. Even when a seagull decided to make a very unfortunate “appearance” on one of the groomsmen, spirits stayed high and laughter followed. Hannah and Ethan’s warmth and kindness were reflected in their giant, wonderful group of friends who showed up with so much love and energy.
As a last-minute decision earlier in the day, we grabbed Hannah’s rain boots. During a break in the weather we headed down to the beach—resulting in some of my favorite images from the entire day. Windy, joyful, and unmistakably PNW.
The celebration continued with an unforgettable dance party, highlighted by an extra-energetic hora. Watching the moms get tossed around on chairs was truly something to behold (and yes—everyone was perfectly fine!).
This windy, heartfelt celebration, surrounded by incredible humans, is exactly the kind of day that reminds me why I love my job.

The Edmonds Waterfront Center offers a stunning location for weddings right on the Salish Sea. The venue’s large windows frame the water perfectly, letting natural light flood the space while giving guests amazing views.
One of the most unique aspects of this venue is watching the Washington State Ferries come and go throughout the day. This added a magical touch to Hannah and Ethan’s celebration, with the boats creating a moving backdrop for their day.
The fall colors mixed with the blues of the water made for a color palette that any photographer would love. The venue’s neutral interior let these natural elements shine while giving us plenty of indoor spaces for photos when the weather wasn’t perfect.
The main festivities began with the ketubah signing in an intimate upstairs room. This traditional Jewish marriage contract ceremony was witnessed by close family and friends and created some touching moments to photograph.
Hannah and Ethan’s ceremony featured both their rabbis sharing wisdom and blessings. The chuppah was set against floor-to-ceiling windows with the water as the backdrop, creating a spiritual and visually stunning setting.
The reception kicked off with an incredibly lively hora dance! Photographing the energy as friends lifted the couple on chairs is always a highlight at Jewish weddings. Hannah and Ethan’s hora was extra energetic.
When it comes to wedding photography experiences, I’m always looking for unique opportunities. That last-minute decision to bring Hannah’s rain boots led to some magical beach portraits and warm toes.
The shoreline near the Edmonds Waterfront Center offers the perfect PNW backdrop – driftwood, the sound of gentle waves, and even the ferry coming and going creates a scene that’s uniquely Washington. The wind added movement to Hannah’s dress and veil, creating images filled with life and emotion.
These beach portraits became some of my favorite photos from their entire day – proof that sometimes the best moments happen when you embrace the PNW weather and just go with it!
Yes! The venue works well for both. Many couples like Hannah and Ethan have their ceremony facing the water views and then transform the space for dinner and dancing. During the summer there is a great spot out the front that is perfect for holding a lovely ceremony right next to the beach.
Absolutely. The beach is right outside the venue, making it easy to slip away for shoreline portraits during your event. There are many many other spots nearby depending on how far you want to go and what your vibe is. Edmonds is one of my favorite locations for engagement photos, wedding day photos or family sessions – there is so much variety.
The Edmonds Waterfront Center has beautiful indoor spaces with large windows, so you still get the water views without getting wet. Plus, brief rain breaks often lead to amazing light for photos!
Yes! The ferry dock is right outside, and guests love watching the boats come and go throughout the day.
