Emily and Joe’s wedding was a delight to be a part of. The two of them are so sweet and kind and just head over heels for each other. Joe looks at Emily as if she is his world, which by all accounts she is. It’s hard to choose my favorite moment from their wedding day, but one big standout for me was during their first look. Joe as a language arts teacher is not normally stuck for words, but all that he could muster at seeing Emily in her wedding dress for the first time was “Wow!!! Wow!!! Just Wow!!!” So so sweet, my eyeballs may or may not have got a bit leaky 😉

Emily & Joe met about 4 years ago when they were both teachers working in classrooms opposite each other. Joe kept trying to find excuses to talk to her, but his advances were not very successful, shall we say. It wasn’t until a staff function and a few beers that Joe was actually himself in front of Emily and she realized how sweet he was and, well the rest is now history.

Their wedding was held at the Great Hall at Greenlake which is stunning inside. It has Joanna Monger Photography written all over it with it’s big white walls and huge windows with oodles of soft natural light. Em, yes, please! We did their first look inside the Great Hall as it was a super hot Saturday which meant that practically all of Seattle were out enjoying the lake. Emily and Joe are not big into being in the spotlight and so the privacy of the great Hall was the perfect spot for them to see each other. We then went out for some portraits outside and then back inside before the guests arrived for their short and sweet ceremony.

Veraci Pizza rolled up with their mobile pizza oven and made the most delightful thin and crispy pizza. In my humble opinion, pizza is always a good idea 🙂 After pizza we enjoyed toasts, cake and dancing. Then we snuck out for some golden light portraits which were amazing. What a great day. Thank you to all the vendors that made the day go so smoothly and thank you to Joe & Emily and your families for such a lovely wedding day. I hope you like the photos.
