Seattle & Snohomish, WA Wedding Photography

A wedding day is full of emotions and as a photo journalistic lifestyle photographer I love capturing these moments through my lens. I am a boutique wedding photographer and as such, I dedicate a lot of time to each of my clients right from the beginning of the process. From the time we very first meet, through the engagement shoot, the wedding planning process and then the actual wedding day we get to know one another very well, and I am so happy to have become such great friends with many of my couples and to continue documenting their growing families.

If you are getting married in or around the Snohomish or Seattle area I would love for us to get together and chat through your wedding plans and we can see if we would be a good fit to work together. To find out a little more about me you can check out my about me page or fill in the contact page to set up a meeting.

Wedding FAQS

Where do you photograph weddings?

I primarily photograph weddings in WA state, specifically Snohomish and Seattle but often I do weddings in Everett, Bellevue, and the surrounding areas. I also have limited availability for destination weddings.

How far ahead of time do we need to book you?

I typically book 6 to 18 months ahead of time. As soon as you have a venue booked (or before if you want to be sure) contact me. I only take on a limited quota of clients a year and so when I have enough for the month I will not take on any more. I choose not to overbook myself so that I can make sure I can provide the level of service that I have become known for.

How do we go about booking you?

Ideally, I like to meet with all my couples before agreeing to work together. Connection is important to me and I do not work with all clients that inquire, it is important that we creatively and personally connect. If we decide that we are a good fit to work together, to secure your date a retainer of $1000 and a completed contract is required. The balance of your wedding package is due 30 days prior to your wedding day.

Do we get a copy of all the images you take?

I take an awful lot of photographs during the course of your wedding day and believe me you don’t want to see all of them :) I go through all the images and remove all the blinks, the less than flattering ones and the duplicates. The remaining images will all be color corrected and edited and you will receive your final images as finished jpegs. I deliver between 500-750 images for a typical wedding just to give you an idea.

Tell me a little about your editing

I don’t like to over edit my photographs, I like to keep them as natural as possible. I am really drawn to old film photography and I like to simulate my favorite films with my post processing. If you want to geek out with me my favorite film is fuji 400.

How long does it take to receive our photographs from the wedding?

Online galleries are posted within 6 weeks of the wedding date, but often sooner.

Do you have insurance?

Absolutely! I would be happy to provide your venue with a certificate of insurance should they require one.

Do you work with a second shooter?

I love working with a second shooter as it helps me to tell your day in a more complete way. Even though I am rather ninja-like during the wedding day I can obviously only be any one place at one time. Most of my wedding packages already include a second shooter or you just add one on to any of the existing packages if you would like to.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, I love photographing engagement sessions. It gives us a chance to work together before the wedding and get to know each other better. Plus it is nice to have some photographs not in your bridal attire in a place really meaningful to the two of you.

Do you take posed family photos?

I do, but I like it be as quick and painless as possible which is why we have family lists written up in advance of the wedding and go through all the groupings nice and quickly so you can get back to having fun with your guests.

What products do you offer?

My most popular products that I offer to my wedding clients are albums and canvas wraps to go on the walls. The albums make beautiful family heirlooms and the quality is just amazing. I’ll be honest with you, it makes me a little sad when people go to such great lengths to have beautiful wedding images made and they just sit on their computer or on a USB somewhere. To enjoy the real beauty of your photographs they need to be professionally printed and made into quality albums or big pieces of art for your walls. I am happy to show you examples of my products when we meet.

I am not working with a planner, are you able to help with the timeline and finding other vendors?

Yes and yes. Whilst I am definitely no official wedding planner and can in no way do all the wonderful things they can do for you, I always help my brides with the timeline for the day. It’s so hard to know how everything fits together if this is your first wedding and getting a great timeline in place is so key to having a relaxed and smoothly running day. As for vendors, having worked in the industry for years now I have developed a great network of wonderful people that I can suggest to you.

How do you secure my images?

People always seem to think that I am super laid back, not the case when it comes to wedding images. I am rather paranoid and as such I have plenty of things in place to make sure we don’t lose any of your precious images. Back-up cameras in case of camera failure, dual memory card slots in my camera in case of memory card failure, memory cards are always kept on me in my holster until they are backed up onto multiple hard drives and onto my cloud system in case my home burns down - I told you I was paranoid! :)

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use all professional grade Canon gear. More specifically a canon 5d mk iv, 5dmk iii, 5d mk ii, a whole plethora of different lens including the 70-200mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm macro, 18-35mm and a Sigma 35mm art. I also have plenty of lighting equipment for the reception and if we do outdoor night time portraits.

Do you have more questions?

Send me a note on the contact form and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
