Seattle is known for embracing fresh ideas. Our eclectic style and welcoming attitude toward all things offbeat makes us who we are! That said, it isn’t too surprising that Washington brides and grooms have begun straying from traditional catered meals and heading straight toward a great alternative. Seattle food trucks are popping up at wedding receptions as a fun and innovative way to fill bellies and fuel the party!

By design, food trucks can feed a lot of people in a little amount of time. The food is fresh, fun, and adds an element of excitement to the event. They can also be a more affordable alternative to a sit-down plated dinner. Be mindful of the weather and the number of guests. Long lines in cold (ie. rainy) or hot (does it get hot here?) weather could be less than thrilling. If you are having a large wedding, it might be best to opt for two trucks to decrease the demand and increase the satisfaction.

If the idea is sparking some intrigue, ask yourself: does a food truck fit the style of my wedding? Would the food be a good fit for the feel of the reception? If so, call it settled! But make sure to find trucks that have experience catering weddings. We all know that weddings are not just any event, and previous experience will aid them in creating the type of service that you will need. Seattle weddings are some of the best, and this would definitely be the talk of the evening…or daytime.

Here are a few links to Seattle food trucks for your search. It is definitely not an exhaustive list, as there are many options to choose from. However, this is a great place to start! Oh, and while we’re at, if you are looking for an experienced wedding photographer, here I am! There is something special about distinctive and quirky events, and nothing beats capturing those extraordinary moments on film.

Bon appétit!
